Biography
Megan Zuhowski, Soprano, is an Assistant Professor of Voice at the University of South Alabama and Assistant Director of 麻豆相关报道Opera Theatre. She teaches applied voice, vocal diction, art song literature, and music business. Dr. Zuhowski鈥檚 continuing research focuses on young artists entrepreneurial skills in the ever changing field of music.
Dr. Zuhowski is an active member of the Alabama Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. She has presented research at the NATS national conference.
In addition to teaching and research, Dr. Zuhowski maintains an active performance schedule and has performed roles such as Suor Angelica in Puccini鈥檚 Suor Angelica, Madaline Usher in Glass鈥檚 The Fall of the House of Usher, Donna Anna in Mozart鈥檚 Don Giovanni, The Governess in Britten鈥檚 The Turn of The Screw, Anne Trulove in Stravinsky鈥檚 The Rake鈥檚 Progress, Fiordiligi in Mozart鈥檚 Cos矛 fan tutte, and Adina in Donizetti鈥檚 l鈥檈lisir d鈥檃more. Dr. Zuhowski has also directed opera scenes and Monteverdi鈥檚 l鈥檌ncoronazione di Poppea.
In addition to her operatic performances, Dr. Zuhowski has been heard performing with Mobile Symphony in the choirs for both Beethoven鈥檚 9th Symphony and Carl Orff鈥檚 Carmina Burana. She has been a finalist at NATS 2016-2019, placing first in her category in 2019. She has also participated in several masterclasses with Metropolitan Opera singers such as Ren茅e Fleming, Karita Mattila, Nicole Cabell, and Nicholas Brownlee.
When not performing Dr. Zuhowski enjoys working in educational outreach, and spending time with her husband and their pets.
