The Â鶹Ïà¹Ø±¨µÀTranslational Research Service Center (TRSC) provides local support and resources for translational research activities at South. The Â鶹Ïà¹Ø±¨µÀ is one of eleven partner network institutions of the University of Alabama at Birmingham's Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS).

Â鶹Ïà¹Ø±¨µÀis proud to be part of this extraordinary regional initiative to address the disproportionate disparity and disease in the Deep South. This regional effort will accelerate discovery and improve human health for the residents of this region and translate to broader applications across the nation.

â–¼   Who is the Â鶹Ïà¹Ø±¨µÀTRSC?

The Â鶹Ïà¹Ø±¨µÀTRSC is comprised of Â鶹Ïà¹Ø±¨µÀbasic and clinical science researchers and administrators who provide research support services and facilitate training, professional development and collaboration.  The Â鶹Ïà¹Ø±¨µÀTRSC is supported by the at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).  The CCTS is funded by the  of the National Institutes of Health under award number UL1TR001417.  The Â鶹Ïà¹Ø±¨µÀPrincipal Investigator is Dr. Mark Gillespie, Chair, Department of Pharmacology and the UAB CCTS Principal Investigator is Dr. Robert Kimberly, Senior Associate Dean for Clinical and Translational Research and Associate Vice President for Medicine and Biomedical Research.   

The Â鶹Ïà¹Ø±¨µÀTRSC team is comprised of familiar and friendly colleagues.  The Organization Chart is shown below.

â–¼   What is the Â鶹Ïà¹Ø±¨µÀTRSC?
The Â鶹Ïà¹Ø±¨µÀTRSC provides local support and resources for translational research activities. The team brings expertise in informatics, statistical analysis and research design, clinical research support and community engagement resources to Â鶹Ïà¹Ø±¨µÀresearchers. Drs. Gillespie and Fruh bring training, networking, development, and funding opportunities to Â鶹Ïà¹Ø±¨µÀresearchers and ensure that Â鶹Ïà¹Ø±¨µÀresources and opportunities for translational research collaboration are conveyed to the CCTS HUB and Partner Network.
